Say Goodbye to Restless Nights and Days of Discomfort

Cough, Fever, and Cold

How do you know if you have a cough, fever, and cold?

  • If there’s a forceful expulsion of air from the lungs through the mouth, accompanied by a distinctive sound.
  • If your body temperature rises above the normal range, around 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius) for most adults.
  • If you have a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, and sometimes a mild fever.

Common Causes of Cough, Fever, and Cold

Cough can be caused by various factors, including respiratory infections (such as colds or flu), irritants like smoke or dust, allergies, asthma, or underlying medical conditions like chronic bronchitis or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Fever is usually a response to an infection, such as a bacterial or viral infection. It occurs when the body’s immune system releases pyrogens in response to the invading pathogens, increasing body temperature.

The common cold is primarily caused by viruses, with rhinoviruses being the most frequent culprits. The viruses are typically transmitted through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes or by touching surfaces with the virus and then touching the nose or mouth.

Treatment Plan for Your Cough, Fever, and Cold

Step 1
Consultation

Our TCM practitioner will assess the patient's medical history, symptoms, and lifestyle. Pulse and tongue diagnosis are used to gain insights into the body's balance of Qi and the state of various organs. Cough, fever, and cold are often attributed to external pathogenic factors like Wind, Cold, or Heat invading the body. The practitioner will determine the specific pattern of disharmony.

Step 2
Treatment

Our various treatments under Traditional Chinese Medicine for restoring the body's energy and balance include acupuncture, cupping therapy, moxibustion, and dietary recommendations.

Step 3
Prescription Medicine

Our practitioners create unique herbal formulas based on the individual's specific imbalance. Common herbs such as ginger, licorice root, and cinnamon treat colds. The practitioner will provide detailed instructions on the dosage and duration of the treatment.
